Student Accommodation

Enjoy significant energy cost savings and provide enhanced security in your student accommodation with MACH® room automation
Take control of your energy consumption and access rights to your accommodation. Effectively manage and operate individual or multiple blocks of accommodation on or off campus. Reduce the duplication and waste associated with traditional ‘island’ solutions for heating, access control, security, SOS alarms and flood alerts.
MACH® is a fully integrated solution to automated room and energy management, incorporating all the benefits of a single source supplier, removing wasteful and costly interfaces between systems and enhancing operator and business efficiency. The MACH® system will help the students to really make a difference to the carbon footprint for your halls of residence by switching off the lights and heating when they are absent from the building. It will also control their access rights, so that they can only access their own block, and specifically their own room.
Using the MACH® system the operator can control how much energy each room can consume, no more over heated rooms, lights left on, windows left open, flooded bathrooms, wasted hot water, TV’s left on whilst the occupier is out, and much more. Keys are RFID tags, they cannot be copied. Each key is unique to that user and their room on that date.
Benefits include:
- Web enabled system allowing remote access and support functions reducing downtime to bare minimum.
- Wireless peripherals such as window switches, flood control, and SOS alarms, minimising installation time and disruption.
- Plug & Play units allowing for very quick replacements by your own maintenance staff should the need arise.
- Full spare part stock service held in the UK, (often in the clients own premises) for speedy rectification of malfunction.
Management reports from the MACH® system include:
- Maintenance regime, management, time and costs.
- Repair and replacement of room essentials in priority order.
- Alarms, identification and response.
To respond to the international element of student accommodation usage and operation, user interface panels will display information in the user’s chosen language. Similarly the operators can log into the system in different languages at the same terminal. The operator can also log in remotely to the system via a suitable web browser.
Refurbishment projects incorporating the MACH® system will also be eligible for the Carbon Trust® loan scheme.
