According to an article that I just read – which you can read here, LED Lights are expected to gain popularity during 2012. That’s something we are noticing, and have been for some time now. In 2010 LED Lighting for factories and warehouses weren’t that high on the agenda for many. However in 2011 our customer base at Interior Control lept dramatically. Key factors for many warehouse managers is the total reduction in maintenance which LED Lights bring. If you consider that most of our clients have 400W metal halide (MH) or high pressure sodium (HPS) (which typically require around 480w including their drivers) – these can now be replaced with a 150w LED High Bay – which; a) runs at about 140w (a 66% saving), b) requires NO MAINTENANCE at all during its life (which in many cases will be 20 years or more), c) produces much less heat (if you have a refrigerated warehouse you’ll know what a problem that is!), d) contains no mercury/glass or lead (WEEE!) and e) is a much cleaner and safer light to work in. There are now so many reasons to buy good quality LED High Bay lights that we are receiving new customers every day. Also, and I find this quite funny sometimes – we get a lot of people phoning up because they bought cheap LED lights from outside the UK and have realised that after 6-12 months they have ‘little red dots’ up in the roof. Yeah – if you drive an LED at 110% and don’t know how to cool it properly you will get that. Our lights are manufactured by a £100m+ UK PLC and are guaranteed for 5 years.
