Abu Dhabi: The Municipality of Abu Dhabi is replacing 600,000 streetlights with new, low-energy Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures in a move that may save up to Dh500 million in energy costs, Gulf News has learnt.
As part of the newly approved Abu Dhabi Sustainability Public Lighting Strategy, work crews are retrofitting old high-pressure sodium lamps atop existing light standards with new LED fixtures.
