The cost of cleaning

Monday, August 10th, 2009

We’ve noticed an increase in media attention into hotel room cleaning and cleanliness in general. There appears to be a bit of a debate going on about how long it should take to clean a hotel room to the correct standards. In addition to this cleaners are reporting that time is lost in waiting around for correct information on which rooms are available for cleaning.

Now, as we all know, Mach has an excellent reporting system for controlling and managing room cleaning and if nothing else, will reduce lost time in waiting for up to date information on rooms available for cleaning and more importantly, letting. Even if you only saved 50 pence  per day per room, for a 120 bed hotel, that is an anual saving of nearly £22,000.

Not enough attention is being paid to these operational cost saving opportunities, which is why we at Interior Control support and encourage the use of whole life value approaches of evaluating installations. Reduce your own carbon footprint and that of your suppliers by this approach.
